Landscape Design Projects – San Diego

We don’t know about you, but 2017 has been great to us. The Deep Rooted Designs team is keeping busy and we have several projects moving forward that are going to redefine Summertime fun for quite a few homeowners.

We’ve had a lot of requests for outdoor living space remodels in South Park, Mission Hills, and North Park. Curious if those of you reading this are from those parts of San Diego? If so, leave us a comment and tell us where you live!

Anyways, with the real estate market this hot in San Diego, it’s not a surprise that these communities are some of the most desired by homeowners. Urban with curb appeal, South Park, North Park and Mission Hills are where many are laying stake and calling “home”. And we’re not complaining – the variety of home styles here has our landscape design team on their toes. You can expect a plethora of craftsman style homes in this area, but we’ve designed our fair share of outdoor living spaces for Spanish and Contemporary styles.

Did you see our blog post last month that highlighted a recent front yard landscape design in North Park? This particular home had multi-levels in the front yard, which add a layer of difficulty to the design and construction process. Our main goal with this home was to create functionality out of the mixed elevations while blending the craftsman style with a xeriscape design that didn’t look out of place. And while our landscape design experts can blend xeriscapes with any style of home, it’s fun to blend xeriscape designs with craftsman-style architecture.

Speaking of homes with multiple elevations/levels… our landscape construction team has been working on an amazing landscape remodel for a couple in South Park. The home is a stunning Spanish style retreat and the backyard is so unique it makes everyone’s jaw drop. As you can see by the photo, you walk downstairs to access the backyard, and step into a massive outdoor living space with tons of dimension. As you walk down the stairs, you’re faced head-on by a beautiful, tiered stone wall built approximately 100 years ago.

This little piece of San Diego paradise is truly the most unique space we’ve worked on to date. The landscape construction work involved has our team plenty busy as we anxiously await its completion. Stay tuned for more pictures of this beauty – but in the meantime we thought we’d show you the landscape design rendering we created for them. This is exactly how the finished product will look!

As you can see by the digital design rendering, we will maintain the integrity of the beautiful tiered stone wall. We’re building an outdoor living space on a massive multi-level deck. The outdoor living space on the left will have partial cover for an indoor/outdoor feel. Directly adjacent to the living space will be a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and grill – perfect for entertaining guests. To the right of the outdoor kitchen/bbq is a full size dining area surrounded by beautifully planted trees for shade during hot summer months. As you walk down the stairs to the lowest level, you’ll approach a pool and tertiary lounge area.

Needless to say, we’re really hoping that these homeowners invite us to some of their Summer parties. This landscape design and construction project is no joke – and we’re thrilled to see our team’s hard work coming to fruition. We can’t wait to show you the final result!

As always, thank you for your support.
