Opal Street Project #2, North Pacific Beach San Diego

FRONT & BACKYARD RENOVATION

We are no strangers to the coastal design, we had previously completed a project just a few blocks down (browse the photos of our first project on this street here).

When talking with the client, it was clear that the main goal was to create a tranquil outdoor living space, one that offered the potential to hold a party or two when necessary! Party elements include a custom poured fire-pit with accents concrete pavers, an upper level of grass for activities, and a kegerator in the outdoor kitchen.

We designed a multi-level backyard outdoor space with a raised dining area, installed with a stunning porcelain tile to match the colors of the home, and a lower gathering area with a firepit as the focal point. The overhead structure, however, is the piece de resistance of the whole design with its custom woven shade fabric, its incorporated light and heat elements, and its integration into the BBQ counter. The front yard offers sufficient curb appeal with a simplistic modern layout of palms and colorful low maintenance plants.

Noteworthy Design Elements:

  • modern concrete paver layout

  • sizable L-BBQ with top notch accessories

  • low maintenance landscaping

  • custom fabric-woven overhead with heat and lighting incorporated

  • porcelain tile installation

  • raised vegetable bed with drip irrigation
